Poa Poiformis 'Kingsdale'

Poa Poiformis 'Kingsdale'

Poa poiformis 'Kingsdale' is a compact, tussock-forming perennial grass known for its vivid blue, arching foliage that adds a soft, contrasting element to garden landscapes. Reaching approximately 45 cm in height and width, 'Kingsdale' is smaller than the 'Eskdale' variety, making it suitable for mass plantings, borders, and erosion control on sloping sites.

Thriving in full sun to part shade, 'Kingsdale' adapts to a wide range of soil types and exhibits tolerance to both frost and drought conditions. Its resilience makes it an excellent choice for coastal positions and exposed areas. For optimal growth, annual trimming to 15 cm above the ground in autumn or late winter is recommended.

This ornamental native grass is well-suited for various landscape applications, including mass plantings, borders, and erosion control, particularly on slopes. Its fine, blue foliage provides a striking contrast in garden designs, enhancing visual interest throughout the year.

'Kingsdale' is suitable for planting in regions such as New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and non-humid areas of Queensland, like Toowoomba with some shade. It is recommended to plant 'Kingsdale' in a well-mulched garden using chunky mulch and apply slow-release fertilizer in spring and/or autumn to promote healthy growth.

Incorporating Poa poiformis 'Kingsdale' into your landscape not only adds aesthetic appeal with its contrasting blue foliage but also offers practical benefits such as erosion control and adaptability to various environmental conditions. Its low-maintenance nature makes it a valuable addition to both residential and commercial gardens.
