Juncus flavidus

Juncus flavidus, or Yellow Rush, is a robust, clump-forming perennial rush native to Australia, commonly found in wetlands, along watercourses, and in seasonally inundated areas. Growing up to 1.5 meters tall, it features upright, cylindrical green stems and distinctive golden-yellow flower clusters that bloom near the stem tips from spring to summer, adding subtle visual interest to wetland landscapes.

Thriving in waterlogged soils and tolerating full sun to partial shade, Yellow Rush is highly valued for its role in wetland restoration, riparian planting, and erosion control. Its dense root system stabilizes soil, reduces sedimentation, and improves water quality by filtering runoff.
